Megan Borregard, PhD
Megan Borregard, PhD, is the Alissa and Gianna Carlino Fellow in Celiac Disease Research at the University of Chicago. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Bana Jabri’s lab, where she recently earned her PhD in Biophysics. In the Jabri lab, Dr. Borregard studies human CD8+ intraepithelial lymphocytes, which contribute to tissue destruction in Celiac Disease.
Dr. Borregard completed her undergraduate studies at Kalamazoo College, where she double majored in Biology and Physics. Her undergraduate research was completed under the mentorship of Dr. Tomasz Cierpicki at the University of Michigan, where she performed biophysical characterizations of small molecule inhibitors for BTB-domain-containing proteins. In association with this work, Dr. Borregard was awarded the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) to fund her graduate research at the University of Chicago.
